Bachelor of Rural Development focuses on strengthening rural economies and social structures to promote financial independence and improved quality of life for rural communities.  RCM’s Rural Development program strives to prepare students and professionals to understand, evaluate, and apply economic and business practices to empower rural communities to build a healthy and sustainable economy. 


This degree program will familiarize students with key issues of rural development through a practical focus on environmental management, economics and trade, challenges of rural society, law and governance, health care access and disease prevention, and information management. After completing a degree in Rural Development, students will have a thorough practical knowledge of rural development issues and be able to effectively tailor and apply their knowledge to confront local challenges and promote development and sustained growth.

Bachelor Degree Requirements

Bachelor degree program requires successful completion of minimum 180 ECTS-Credits (European Credits Transfer and Accumulation System).  The total cumulative credits will include Recommended Core Courses, Elective Courses, Bachelor Thesis and Applicable Transferred Credits.  Student performance will be measure against acceptable overall academic achievements. The total required credits can be achieved or completed through combination of learning groups listed below, pending total credits transferred into the program:

Bachelor Program Structure

The Bachelor degree program structure below is based on the assumption that the applicant will have completed an appropriate Higher Diploma, Associate Degree or equivalents at an accredited college or university (earned 90 ECTS-Credits).  Student with higher qualification above 90 Credits will be granted further transferable credits. Similarly, additional courses will be assigned to students with less transfer credits
